About the foundation

“No one lights a lamp and covers it with a bowl or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand so that those who enter may see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing concealed that will not be known and brought to light.” (Luke 8:16-18)

Dear donors,

In the Republic of Cape Verde, many children live in extreme poverty, vulnerable to various factors that prevent them from experiencing a happy childhood. These children need protection, support, and care to grow up safely, stay healthy, receive the necessary education, and fully develop their potential. The Hope Cape Verde Foundation works closely with local organisations, government representatives, businesses, and individuals to create a safe environment that ensures education and a brighter future for these children.

I myself grew up in Cape Verde, in a small village called Achada Bel Bel, where families live in homes of just a few square metres, cook on firewood, and fetch water from a well. The hardest thing for me was seeing young children, full of ideas and dreams, who had no opportunity to pursue their future and aspirations.

I have been living in the Czech Republic for several years, where I study at university, work as a model, and run a small online shop. For someone who grew up in Africa in very challenging conditions, I consider myself fortunate and successful in what I do.

Today, I feel a deep responsibility to help the children and people of my homeland who are facing the same hardships and living in circumstances similar to those I once experienced.
