A nationwide initiative to improve housing conditions – House of Dreams (Casa Dos Sonhos).
In a short period, more than half of Cape Verdeans have moved to cities. Due to uncontrolled urbanization and, in many cases, the lack of proper urban development plans, Cape Verde faces a significant housing problem. This has led to a decline in living standards, forcing many Cape Verdeans to live in deplorable conditions.
We have decided to help the most vulnerable, those living in dilapidated houses. Our goal is to provide at least 100 Cape Verdean families with access to decent housing. The assistance will be distributed across the Cape Verdean islands, focusing on socially and economically excluded families.
This unprecedented project spanning all of Cape Verde presents challenges not only in terms of financing but also in organization, material supply, and human resources. The Naděje Foundation has already completed many successful projects and is recognized for its achievements. Thanks to this, local authorities actively support our initiative, remove administrative barriers, and work alongside us. We are grateful for their cooperation.
