A Chance for a Better Future for Mothers and Children
The Cape Verde Islands face serious challenges in healthcare, particularly due to limited resources, a lack of specialized facilities, and low availability of qualified professionals. This situation is most evident in maternal and neonatal care.
The Czech Republic ranks among the world leaders in maternal and newborn care, as evidenced by an exceptionally low maternal mortality rate of 3 deaths per 100,000 births (compared to 42 deaths in Cape Verde) and the lowest neonatal mortality rate of 1.2 to 2 per 1,000 live births (compared to 8.7 per 1,000 in Cape Verde). This stark contrast highlights the urgent need for systemic improvements in healthcare, which is the primary goal of the Naděje Cabo Verde Foundation.

Maternal and Childcare Center – Comprehensive Healthcare Approach
The Maternidade Naděje project is more than just constructing a medical facility—it aims to create a top-tier medical center that provides care at the level of modern European standards while also serving as an educational hub for future generations of medical professionals.
Key Features of the Hospital:

✔ Maternity Center – Meeting European standards, including six delivery rooms, a unit for cesarean sections, and comprehensive prenatal care.
✔ Diagnostic Center – Equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies, laboratory
Expanded Facilities and Research:
✔ Cardiology Department – Focused on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, one of the leading causes of death in Cape Verde.
✔ Research and Development Center – A collaboration between Czech and Cape Verdean specialists, dedicated to immunology, autism, and oncology, with an emphasis on rapidly applying scientific advancements in practice.
Knowledge Transfer: Cooperation with Leading Czech Experts
The project builds on the expertise of top Czech medical institutions, which are globally recognized for excellence in prenatal and perinatal care. The goal is to transfer proven practices, knowledge, and expertise to Cape Verde, ensuring that local women receive the same quality of care as mothers in the Czech Republic.
As part of the project, Cape Verdean doctors and medical staff will be trained by Czech specialists, and prevention and education programs will be introduced, focusing on proper care for pregnant women and newborns.
An Opportunity for Investors and Donors: Help Change Lives
The Maternidade Naděje project is not just a healthcare initiative—it is an investment in the future. Every donation or investment will help build a modern medical facility while also securing education and support for expecting mothers and future generations of doctors.
